Terms and Conditions – Automated Online Courses
These terms and conditions only apply to automated online courses offered by The College of Animal Welfare Ltd and cannot be changed unless specifically agreed by the Principal of The College of Animal Welfare in writing.
- Automated online courses may only be paid for online.
- Telephone, fax or emails orders will not be accepted.
- By paying the course fee users accept these terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.
- If the user is unwilling to accept these terms and conditions then the course may not be used and the user should not purchase the course.
- Automated online courses are not supported by tutors.
- In order to purchase the course first time users of a College of Animal Welfare course must create an account and then log into the system. Once the account has been set up users may log onto their account using the user name and password that was provided when their account was first set up.
- Payment for the course may only be made using the online payment system via PayPal.
- Payment will allow access to the course and thereafter users will be able to logon to the course via their account without being required to pay again.
- The course fee payable is as described on the website of the College of Animal Welfare.
- All payments are made to CAW Publishing Ltd [03218458] and are inclusive of VAT.
- The use of the course is personal to the user and the course may not be used by another person.
- The purchaser of the course may cancel the course within 14 days of purchase by emailing the College of Animal Welfare on mooc@caw.ac.uk provided no part of the course has been accessed.
- On cancellation you will be entitled to apply for a full refund provided:
- no part of the course has been accessed
- the notification of cancellation was received by the College of Animal Welfare within 14 days of purchase
- the original course fee payment has been cleared
- Refunds will be made to the person who purchased the course using the same method as the payment was made to purchase the course within 30 days of confirmation by the College that a refund will be made.
- Users may incur charges by their internet service provider or other software licence holders. In all such cases the user is responsible to pay such fees.
- It is the users’ responsibility to check that the computer that they intend to use to access the course meets the minimum specification required.
- The College of Animal Welfare cannot be held responsible for any technical problems that users may encounter following the purchase of the course.
- Should course content be superseded by new legislation or the issue of new regulations the College of Animal Welfare may revise the course content as it solely determines.
- For the avoidance of doubt the purchase of a current online course does not entitle access to future revised online courses as part of the original purchase.
- The College of Animal Welfare does not provide technical support for automated online courses however if a fault is reported by emailing mooc@caw.ac.uk the College will use reasonable endeavours to provide a solution but does not guarantee that any technical advice provided will solve the reported problem. If technical advice is provided the College will not accept any responsibility for any advice given.
- The College of Animal Welfare cannot be held responsible for any of the following:
- the operation of the internet and World Wide Web
- firewall restrictions
- equipment failures
- browser issues
- The College of Animal Welfare does not make any commitment that the course purchased will be compatible with or operate with the hardware or software of users
- Automated online courses offered by the College of Animal Welfare are not qualifications and are designed for training purposes only.
- The College of Animal Welfare makes no representation, guarantee or warranty that the course is error free.
- The College of Animal Welfare shall not be responsible for
- indirect or consequential losses
- loss of income, revenue or profit
- loss of potential income, revenue or profit
- loss of anticipated savings
- loss or corruption of data
- The College of Animal Welfare’s maximum aggregate liability for any claims against the college for direct loss or any other loss in connection with these terms and conditions or the course shall be limited to the amount of the fee which has been paid for the course.
- At all times the content of the course remains the property of the College of Animal Welfare unless otherwise stated. No part of the course may be reproduced, stored or transmitted in any form or by any means without the written authorisation of the Principal of the College of Animal Welfare.
- In consideration for the payment of the course fee the College of Animal Welfare grants the purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferrable licence for the sole use of the course for education and training purposes only.
- The purchaser agrees not to infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of the College of Animal Welfare.
- The College of Animal Welfare courses are being constantly updated and improved and the College reserves the right to alter any aspect of the courses content without prior notice.
- Users of The College of Animal Welfare automated online courses must be at least 16 years of age unless otherwise agreed by The Principal of The College of Animal Welfare in writing.
- All data and information held by The College of Animal Welfare may be shared with other related businesses of the College, government and inspection agencies. All information will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
- These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement and understanding between the parties and supersedes and replaces any other terms and conditions previously published by the College of Animal Welfare or any other understanding or statement of any nature made by the College in relation to these terms and conditions.
- This agreement is subject to English law.
