ECC is a space within veterinary medicine where prompt and appropriate interventions save lives. We will discuss the similarities and differences of emergency protocols for rabbits and rodents as compared to other species, highlighting at each stage practical tips to improve outcomes. Assessing and adjusting care for critical cases needs to be a team effort where the nursing care plan and nursing evaluations complement and inform the overall treatment plan. We will take a deep dive into monitoring parameters and interventions that might make a significant difference to critical patients.
