Veterinary Care of Pigeons and Doves: Pigeons and doves are very frequently presented in veterinary facilities in the UK, a variety of life stages. In this lecture we will cover, triage, trauma management, infectious diseases, hand rearing and the legalities of pigeon and dove care. Despite being very common in the UK, pigeons and doves have some unusual anatomy and behaviours, understanding them better will allow us to nurse them better! We will cover the following key learning points: 1. Insight into the growth stages of pigeons and doves 2. We will look at staying safe during the triage process 3. Learn more about the diseases seen in these species 4. Review of the medications that are useful and how to administer them
